Bu ay #GüvenlikPortalı’nın kapak eseri, heykeltıraş Nurettin Bektaş’ın Çanakkale Tarihe Saygı Parkında yer alan 2013 tarihli Bombatepe Vakasını canlandıran heykel kompozisyonu.
Çanakkale Eceabat’taki Tarihe Saygı Parkında, İkinci Anafartalar Muharebesi dahilinde gerçekleşen, “Bombatepe Vakası”nı temsil eden heykel kompozisyonu yer almaktadır. Türk mevzilerine karşı 27-28 Ağustos 1915 tarihlerinde Türk ve Anzak birliklerinin karşı karşıya geldikleri ve ağır kayıplar verdikleri bu çatışmayı temsil eden eser, temsili siperler içine yerleştirilen 40 adet heykelden oluşan bir kompozisyondur.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Çanakkale muharebelerinde siper çatışmalarının dehşetini “karşılıklı siperler arası 8 metre, yani ölüm muhakkak” cümlesi ile ifade ederken, çatışmanın bütün olumsuzluklarına rağmen Türk askerinin çatışma süresince gösterdiği metaneti ve cesareti överek bu azimle Çanakkale muharebelerinin kazanıldığını belirtmiştir.
Heykeltıraş Nurettin Bektaş, Nutuk’taki ifadelerden yola çıkarak bu heykel kompozisyonunu oluşturmuştur. Anzak ve Türk askerlerinin canlandırıldığı kompozisyonda 20’şer adet heykel, karşılıklı olarak 8 metre mesafeli 22 metrelik siperler içerisine yerleştirilmiştir. Birebir ölçekte yapılmış heykeller, yaşananları en iyi şekilde yansıtmaya çalışacak şekilde, gerçekçi ve etkili pozisyon, hareket ve ifadelere sahiptir. Heykeller önce kil ile modellenerek, daha sonra sert polyester madde ile dökümleri alınmıştır. Asker figürlerinin yüzleri, heykeltıraş tarafından dönemin fotoğrafları incelenerek gerçeğe uygun şekillendirilmiştir. Kompozisyonda kullanılan mühimmat ve malzemeler de gerçeğe uygun şekilde modellenmiştir. Proje dokuz ayda tamamlanmıştır.
Marmara Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Heykel Bölümünde halen bölüm başkanı olarak görev yapmakta olan Nurettin Bektaş’ın, Tarihe Saygı Parkındaki bu eseri yanında, Çanakkale Akbaş Şehitliği Rölyef ve Heykelleri, Çanakkale Kahramanları Büstleri, Atatürk Büstleri ve ayrıca çeşitli anıtlar ve büstleri bulunmaktadır.

This month’s cover artwork of #SecurityPortal, is the sculptural composition of sculptor Nurettin Bektaş dated 2013, that portrays the Hill 60 Case in Çanakkale Respect for History Park.
In the Respect for History Park in Çanakkale Eceabat, there is a sculpture composition representing the “Hill 60 Case”, which took place during the Second Battle of Anafartalar. The work, which represents this conflict against the Turkish positions between 27-28 August 1915, in which the Turkish and Anzac troops confronted and suffered heavy losses, is a composition of 40 statues placed in representative trenches. While Mustafa Kemal Atatürk expressed the horror of the trench clashes in the Çanakkale battles with the phrase “8 meters between the trenches, that is, death is certain”, he praised the steadfastness and courage shown by the Turkish soldiers during the conflict and stated that the Çanakkale battles were won with this determination.
Sculptor Nurettin Bektaş created this sculptural composition based on the expressions in Nutuk. In the composition where 20 statues for each Anzac and Turkish soldier were animated realistically, were placed in 22-meter trenches that are 8 meters apart. Sculptures made on a one-to-one scale have realistic and effective positions, movements, and expressions in a way that tries to reflect what happened in the best way. The sculptures were first modeled with clay and then cast with hard polyester material. The faces of the soldier figures were shaped realistically by the sculptor by examining the photographs of the period. The ammunition and materials used in the composition are also modeled realistically. The project was completed in nine months.
Nurettin Bektaş, who is still working as the head of the Department of Sculpture at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, has this work in Respect for History Park, as well as Çanakkale Akbaş Martyrdom’s Relief and Sculptures, Çanakkale Heroes Busts, Atatürk Busts, and various monuments and busts.
