Savaş Bitiren Kadın: Feyruz
Bu ay Güvenlik Portalı’nda yer alan sanat eseri Feyruz’a ait “Li Beirut” (Beyrut İçin) şarkısı.
Derler ki, Lübnan iç savaşında en kanlı muharebelerin ortasında radyoda Feyruz çıktı mı, taraflar silahlarını bırakır, bir sigara yakar ve Feyruz’u dinlerlermiş. Lübnan’ın en ünlü yıldızlarından Feyruz, iç savaş çıktığında her zaman ülkesinin birliğini savunmuş aynı zamanda savaş karşıtı bir tutum alarak savaş yıllarında Lübnan’da sahneye çıkmayı reddetmiştir. İç savaş yılları boyunca “ülkeyi terk et” söylemlerine aldırış etmemiş ve ülkesini hiçbir zaman terk etmemiştir. Eylül 1994’te Beyrut Şehitler Meydanı’nda konsere çıkmasıyla artık herkes anlamıştır ki savaş bitmiştir.

The Women who Ended the War: Fairuz
This month’s artwork of the Security Portal is the song, “Li Beirut”, by Fairuz.
It is rumored, in the Lebanese civil war, when Fairuz appeared on the radio, the bloodiest battles stop, the combatants lay down their arms, they light a cigarette and listen to Fairuz. One of the most famous stars of Lebanon, Fairuz, always defended the unity of her country when the civil war broke out and at the same time, she refused to take the stage in Lebanon during the war years by taking an anti-war stance. Throughout the civil war, she was compelled to leave the country; however, she ignored the threats and kept living in Lebanon. With the Fairuz’s concert at the Beirut Martyrs Square in September 1994, everyone had understood that the war was over.
